Active in the music industry since 1976, Bryan Adams has become a true superstar. Not only is he one of the best-selling recording artists of all time from Canada, but he has also been the recipient of numerous nominations, awards, and honors. 1. American Music Awards
Adams has been nominated for an American Music Award 3 times, twice in 1992 and once in 1997. In 1992 he also won the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Single for his track “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You.”
2. Grammy Awards
Adams has also won 1 Grammy Award for the same song in the category “Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.” He has been nominated for a total of 14 Grammy Awards since 1986.
3. Juno Awards
It’s no surprise that Adams has had phenomenal success at the Juno Awards, which are awarded every year to Canadian musical artists. He has received a total of 56 nominations in a variety of different categories, and has taken home 18 of them.
4. MTV Video Music Awards
Adams has also garnered some recognition over at the MTV Video Music Awards. He has been nominated 11 times and even won once for his song “It’s Only Love” in the Best Stage Performance Video category.
5. Golden Globe Awards
Adams has been recognized for his work in motion pictures at the Golden Globe Awards with a total of 5 nominations, each in the category of Best Original Song – Motion Picture. Unfortunately, he has yet to be awarded a Golden Globe.
6. Academy Awards

7. Officer of the Order of Canada
Adams was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2006. The Order of Canada is the second highest merit honor available in Canada, and was given to Adams not only for his music but also for his philanthropy.
8. Officer of the Order of British Columbia
Adams has also been made an Officer of the Order of British Columbia for the same reasons. The Order of British Columbia was introduced in 1986, and is the highest honor conferrable by the Crown of British Columbia.
9. Canada’s Walk of Fame
In 1998, Adams was inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame is located in Toronto, where it goes on for 13 blocks. It acknowledges successful Canadians and displays their names on a series of maple leaves that run along the sidewalk.
10. Governor General’s Performing Arts Award
Adams’ latest award came in 2006, when he was given the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for a Lifetime of Artistic Achievement. The award recognized his work, his millions of worldwide sales, and the many awards and honors listed above.
