Robin Williams Granted One Last Wish Before his Death

August 18, 2014

As the shocking loss of Robin Williams starts to wear off and become normal, we begin to take comfort in all the things that remind us of him.

Robin Williams was a man who loved to entertain others and bring a smile to people’s faces. For a man who was plagued by so much internal conflict and strife, he made it a mission to try and ease the pain he saw in others. And for terminally ill Vivian Waller, that is exactly what he tried to do.

Vivian is a 21-year-old who was diagnosed in January with lung, bowel and liver cancer.

She said that meeting Robin Williams before she died was pretty high up on her bucket list, but then this New Zealand native became too ill to travel. So Robin decided to reach out to her instead.

“Hi Vivian . . . it’s Robin Williams here saying, ‘Hey girl, what’s going on down there in New Zealand?'”, Robin says in the video, moving between an American and Kiwi accent.

Vivian’s husband, Jack, whom she married in February after the funds were raised in just ten days, says she was thrilled beyond belief with the message. They decided to share the message with the world because, “we love him, we want to show people how awesome a person he was”.

Although it cannot replace the loss of such a great man, the fact that the time leading up to his death was used to make someone else happy just goes to show the caliber of the man who is no longer among us.

As Robin Williams said in his message, “I’m sending all my love to you . . . knock this off your bucket list.”

We miss you Robin.
