Twenty Actors You Didn’t Know Were Canadian

2. Ryan Reynolds

The star of films like the “Green Lantern” and “The Proposal”, like Seth Rogen, is also originally from Vancouver.

In addition to his many film roles, Reynolds has also guest starred on several television shows, such as “Scrubs”, “Family Guy”, and has also hosted “Saturday Night Live”.

He is currently married to the gorgeous Blake Lively.

Reynolds comes from a middle class Vancouver background, unconnected with show business in any form.

Unlike his compatriot, Seth Rogen, Reynolds graduated from High School, and he even started off studying for a degree, though he didn’t complete the course.

He dropped out to pursue acting and headed down to Los Angeles to try to make it in movies.

Reynolds’s career started to take off in the States, in some measure, no doubt, due to his stunning good looks.

He’s now a veteran of nearly 50 movies, and has also appeared on numerous TV shows.

Most of his output has been on the level of light-hearted entertainment, but he has a serious side too, as witness his humanitarian work in Malawi.

As befits a Hollywood star, Reynolds has had high profile relationships. He was engaged to Alanis Morissette, and briefly married to Scarlett Johansson.

But he retains pride in his Canadian heritage, often visiting his native city, and says that he values the quietly ironic spirit of Canadians.
