Tragic Loss for Nicole Kidman Dashes Divorce Rumors

September 17, 2014

It seems that celebrity divorce rumors are all that keep tabloid magazines going nowadays. Most of the time, these rumors are started when a writer sees a little bit of distance growing between whatever couple he or she is analyzing. The results are often convoluted messages in the media that ultimately have no bearing on the current situation between celebs.

The same can be said about the rumors surrounding Nicole Kidman and her country-singing husband, Keith Urban.

The Australian couple has been just as swamped by divorce rumors as Jay Z and Beyoncé have, yet have managed to hold firm in front of them.

However, tragedy strikes when it is least expected: Kidman’s father, Tony Kidman, a clinical psychologist at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia, died while visiting the star’s sister, Antonia Marran, who lives in Singapore with her husband and six children.

The loss of a parent, especially one as supportive as Tony was to Nicole, is always hard to deal with. The effect is more pronounced when your significant other is halfway across the world on tour. However, family comes first, as Keith recently demonstrated by cancelling a concert on Saturday to make the trip to be with his wife and mother of his kids in her time of need.

Although tragedy has a way of bringing people together, Nicole has said before that her family is the most important thing to her. Urban has said much the same himself, although the divorce rumors started because the singer just couldn’t seem to make time for his family as he battled tour dates and concerts.

This latest act should go to demonstrate that although Keith takes the support he gets from his fans seriously, nothing is more important to him than his wife and kids.
